At the Shepherd School, we teach you how to be better prepared to protect yourself and your family from human predators.

We teach more than just how to shoot firearms.  While handgun training is a large portion of our classes, we believe that a survival mindset is more important than a handgun.  Firearms are tools, and while they are good tools, they are worthless without the will and skill to use them.

 

We offer classes for the Tennessee handgun carry permit, TN armed, unarmed, baton and chemical spray security guard certifications, NRA courses in home firearm safety, basic pistol, personal protection in the home, and Instructor courses as well.

Our Nashville based Tennessee handgun carry permit and armed security guard class are some of the best in the area.  We don't just satisfy ourselves with the minimum standards or rely impressing the firearm student with too many war stories.  We understand the importance of training and maintaining our skills, so our handgun instructors exceed the minimum standards set by the Department of Safety for Handgun Permit instructors by being not only NRA instructors, but by also being P.O.S.T, and NRA Law Enforcement Firearm Instructors as well.

 

Our instructor classes are held throughout Tennessee and neighboring states, with accomidations depending on course requirements.

 

While the majority of our classes are held in Nashville, Tennessee, we are mobile, and can tailor classes to your location.  We are flexible and If there is something you need that is not listed, feel free to CONTACT US with your requirements.  Private classes and tutoring is available.

 

If you want to take a firearm class, but are new to guns, we are the instructors for you.  We have been teaching the Tennessee handgun carry permit class for a number of years and are not one of those instructors who think everybody is a gun enthusiast.  We approach gun training with a positive, low stress, enjoyable attitude and are not "Drill Instructors".

  3. We teach adults, and recognize that your time is valuable, so while we do use humor and personal experiences to enhance key points, we keep the "war stories" to a minumum so we keep the learning at maximum.
  4. We genuinely care about learning, and are always on the lookout to gain more skills to bring to the classroom.  Unlike many instructors with only the minimum certifications, our instructors are always taking more classes.  In fact, David is able to certify new instructors in this field.
  5. Our courses are not the cheapest, but they are no where near the most expensive.  We set our prices to give the best value for your money, and your time.
  6. While this is a buisness, money is not our only goal, we operate on the value of honesty and quality.  You don't pay if you are not satisfied.  At the end of class, if you did not get what you paid for, tell us and if we cannot make you satisfied we will refund your money.
