Like the sword book posted earlier, I am sharing this Archery manual because many preppers want to have non-firearm defensive skills. Also like the sword book, I hope we never HAVE to have these skills.
Unlike the sword manual, Archery has modern uses. Hunting is still done with bows, and is very popular.
I am not very good with a bow, I enjoy shooting them, and have owned several, but archery is not a skill I have spent a lot of time on.
I never mastered it, and to be more accurate, I suck at it.
A bow is elegant though, and as a sustainable skill it is perfect for a prepper. It is possible to make a bow and its ammunition. Compared to modern firearms, a bow wins hands down in that perspective.
Really though, it is very unlikely that you will ever have to resort to using a bow for self protection or survival, but having the ability to is very comforting.
In an attempt to get around my lack of skill with a bow, I tried a sling bow, but I found that that too took practice.
