Airguns is a book that explores the historical uses and types of airguns. Did you know that the Lewis and Clark Expedition carried a lethal multi shot airgun? It is in the book.
Their Girandoni air rifle was 4 ft (1.2 m) long and weighed 10 lb (4.5 kg), about the same basic size and weight as other muskets of the time. It fired a .46 caliber ball, held 20 shots. and was lethal to 25 to 150 yard, tell me that wasn’t impressive for the time. OF course it was not perfect as it took 1500 pumps to fill the reservoir, and that only gave you 30 shots.
This gun and more can be found in the book. This is a pretty cool book to show a youngster that likes guns but says they don’t like to read.[pdf-embedder url=”https://www.tngun.com/wp-content/uploads/Airguns.pdf”]
