Your Home for DIY Prepper Projects and Information
The DIY Prepper Projects category is the heart of this site. Everything I do on this site is based around diy prepper projects to help you become more resilient.
I wasn’t always a DIY prepper, but when I started I fund it to be addictive. It lets me have things I couldn’t afford to buy, makes me feel a sense of accomplishment, and builds confidence.
I find this category to be my favorite, I think it is the most fun. However, its Do It Yourself not Gospel, I am not showing HOW TO do things, but rather how I DID things. Feel free too disagree with how I do things. I would prefer you comment on or show how to do it better rather just be negative though.
As you can no doubt tell, I really like my chicken tractor, but I want more chickens, and my yard just cannot handle any more tractors without having a traffic jam. So I have been surfing the net and reading my chicken raising books to decide on the best chicken house set up. I decided on building a raised house (like a rabbit hutch) with a laying box arrangement.
Being an EDC (everyday carry) kind of guy, especially one that’s a fan of MacGyver and 24, it should be no surprise that I normally carry a messenger bag. I know its not the coolest thing in the world for a guy to carry a purse, even if it has such nifty names as Jack Pack or Bauer Bag. My lovely bride calls it my murse a lovely portmanteau of Man-Purse.
I needed a fence, both to get my dog off of a chain and because a neighbor dog killed 5 of my 8 chickens. It is true that Tennessee law allows a livestock owner to kill a dog that is killing livestock, that’s not really an option for me at this time. Besides with a fence I can get a Great Pyrenees that my lovely bride wants, as well as some dwarf milk goats that I want.
