This subcourse, EN 5462 Geology is a US Army Correspondence subcourse designed to help you identify specific rock types from written descriptions and line drawings and to determine engineering properties of rocks in terms of their suitability for construction use. Information is provided on rock types and properties, geological structures, slope failure, surficial features, and construction material. Appendix C contains conversion factors for any
metrics introduced in the subcourse.
This course is taught in four lessons. I think the Military ability to teach complex skills quickly and effectively is something all educators should learn from. Because of the effectiveness of this ability, I have added as many of the correspondence courses I could to the 2 disk DVD set I have on military documents (linked in the picture to your left).
