Speaking of FM 5-20 and military camouflage, funny story, I was deployed to turkey in the mid 90’s and my crew and I just finished camouflaging a 50+ ton almost 27 feet long M88 Tank Retriever (a BIG tow truck) with branches and leaves, when a herd of goats came by. They ate hours of work in just a few minutes. Which in turn caused a hatred of goats that lasted for some time.
Later on that deployment I fashioned a lasso and went out to rope a goat for a field BBQ. I succeeded, but was forced back on ship instead of celebrating my birthday with cold revenge on the camouflage destroying animals.
What does that have to do with FM 5-20? Nothing, but it was a funny event and I wanted to share.
