Farm Blacksmithing is a textbook and problem book for students in agricultural schools and colleges, technical schools, and for farmers.
It was written my John Friese the head of the Machine Shop and forging departments, technical high school, St. Cloud Minnesota.
It was published it 1921, but every bit of the books is still useful for farm and beginning blacksmiths today.
I have linked to another great article on farm blacksmithing from the small farmer’s journal.
The book below is the direst outgrowth of the author’s experience in teaching farm blacksmithing to farm boys. The objects of which the process of making is described in the book, all center around farm activities.
The purpose of the book is two-fold. It is intended as a teacher’s aid, being a source of problesm and suggestions, the author also had in mind its direct use by farmers as a means of self instruction in blacksmithing.
