Dogs have been killing my chickens by tearing into the old wooden coop I built so I decided to build a dog proof coop.
Once I made an all metal coop with EMT conduit dome as the base with welded wire cattle fencing as the panels, and chicken wire wrapped around to ensure the baby chickens can’t get out from the large holes in the welded wire I solved my problem.
I have not lost a single chicken to dogs or raccoons since I built this geodesic dome chicken coop. This was a pretty easy dome to build, and my plan was to turn it into an e-book.
While over time I am not convinced it is useful enough to people to be worth the effort to write an ebook, I am glad I built my Geodesic Dome Chicken Coop. However I don’t know when or if I will ever find the time to make an ebook.
After using this Geodesic Dome Chicken Coop for a year I scrapped it. It was a good idea and definitely kept out the dogs, it was hard to move because of the weight and hard to get the chickens out of in order to eat them.
