Dogs have been killing my chickens by tearing into the old wooden coop I built so I decided to build a dog proof coop.
I made an all metal coop with EMT conduit dome as the base. For the sides I used welded wire cattle fencing.
Additionally, I added chicken wire to ensure the baby chickens can’t get out from the large holes in the welded wire I solved my problem.
I have not lost a single chicken to dogs or raccoons since I built this geodesic dome chicken coop. This was a pretty easy dome to build, and my plan was to turn it into an e-book.
While over time I am not convinced it is useful enough to people to be worth the effort to write an ebook, I am glad I built my Geodesic Dome Chicken Coop. However I don’t know when or if I will ever find the time to make an ebook.
After using this Geodesic Dome Chicken Coop for a year I scrapped it. It was a good idea and definitely kept out the dogs, it was hard to move because of the weight and hard to get the chickens out of in order to eat them.
