This 1854 Handbook of Chemistry is an old reference, but that does not make it useless. In my collection of electronic reference material I have stockpiled a lot of old chemistry texts. It was chemistry that fueled our Industrial revolution, if you know science then you can do just about anything.
I have about 100 of these old Chemistry books that I will be sharing over time. It is not a cool as the gun stuff, or as immediately usable as some of the cooking or building pdfs, but if we ever have a true TEOTWAWKI (The End Of The World As We Know It) event then these old books will be worth their weight in gold.
I say they already are, especially since they are in the forms of electrons on the computer and weight nothing.
Knowledge weighs nothing, but its priceless and rare. After a collapse, guys with guns that want to do security are a dime a dozen, but technicians are going to be rare.
If you can purify water, blast rock, make soap, distill alcohol, and all the other thousands of things based in chemical knowledge you will be more than rare, you will be invaluable.
