I have a friend that swears by juicing, and I was intrigued by it, so when I saw a new Big Boss juicer on sale for 2/3 its normal price I decided to buy one.
The juicer is very easy to use, and I prefer drinking my vegetables to eating them, but I hate to waste all the good fiber that is left in the juicer.
I have seen recipes for veggie burgers and other food items from the remains, and I plan on trying them later.
However, what I wanted to try first was using the leftover bits to feed my rabbits. Below is my simple procedure to turn leftover juicer pulp into rabbit treat sticks.
The procedure to make Rabbit Treats from Juicer Pulp is very simple:
- When cleaning out the juicer, I collect all the vegetable matter (which is pretty dry).
- Next I press it into shape and dehydrate it.
- It makes a dry stick (and if I had a pellet machine it would be VERY close to how they make commercial rabbit food).
- I took it out to my rabbits, and they loved it.
I get to eat my vegetables how I prefer, and the rabbits get a health treat to munch on – win-win…
