If you’re the type of individual that this site is written for, then you instinctively know that you alone are responsible for your actions, and that some (most) of the projects and activities you find here will cause you to have a bad day, up to and including burning down your house if you do not use a little common sense and take reasonable precautions before attempting to duplicate or model the things I have described.  You will also have figured out that I am by no means a professional at anything other than messing around with projects and that anything I have tried you can do just as well or better with the same amount of effort.

If you are this type of individual you are probably familiar with the two quotes below.  These two little tidbits are from Robert Heinlein and briefly touch upon the spirit of who I am and what I am trying to accomplish with my life and this website:

“I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do. I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.”

“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.”

If you are one of the collective, someone that waits for permission and only does things that are specifically allowed, who has ever thought of litigation to solve a problem brought about by your own personal stupidity, who thinks laws should be written to protect people from their own mistakes or lack of planning, education, or common sense then you’re the reason I have this page posted and that I am adding the following disclaimer:

Leave this site.  Do not attempt any of these projects; do not try this at home, work, school, or anywhere else.  Some of the activities within this site use products in ways inconsistent with their engineered or labeled use and should not be attempted by anyone in any manner.

Basically, this site is documentation for my becoming more active in my own destiny; I am tired about reading books and dreaming of becoming more self reliant and have decided to actually DO it.  I some of these projects that I once considered impossibly hard for me to attempt are actually easier than I thought.  This is because I am gaining skills, confidence, and knowledge gained by practice and long study.

I am not in any means suggesting that my way is the only way, or the best way (heck sometimes its not even a good way). But its how I am DOING it…

If you have a better way, PLEASE tell me, show me, comment and critique… Knowledge is not gained in a vacuum.  All of human progress is build upon the progress of others that came before.  Very few of my projects are original ideas of mine, and I am just documenting my journey so take what you want and use it how you will.

BUT, if you comment that my project “sux” or “I did it wrong” but don’t give me a better way or give me some articulable facts I am going to make fun of you for being a troll.  Telling me I did it wrong and showing me how to fix it GOOD, Telling me I did it wrong because you read in a forum that it doesn’t work BAD….

That being said, be careful, use common sense, and know what your skill level is before you try this stuff.
